National Sandwich Day, A Day to Bite Into.

November 3rd is “National Sandwich Day” and it falls on a Foodie Friday at Boca Grove. This gives us the perfect opportunity to share a recipe for the ultimate sandwich (we didn’t really need an excuse though). Boca Grove’s Executive Chef Dominick Laudia has given us the recipe for the “New York Deli Ultimate Patty Melt” to fill our tummies while we celebrate.

For the Ultimate Patty Melt:
2 slices                  Rye Bread
1 oz.                      Butter
1 each                   10-ounce Prime Burger, Cooked to Your Liking
¼ cup                    Sautéed Onions
2 oz.                      Sliced Corned Beef, Warm
2 oz.                      Sliced Pastrami, Warm
3 slices                  Swiss Cheese
2 tbsp.                   1000 Island Dressing
2 oz.                      Coleslaw

To Assemble:
Butter rye bread and place on a griddle or sauté pan and toast until golden brown.
Top with 1000 island dressing and swiss cheese.
Allow cheese to melt.
Place corned beef and pastrami on one slice of bread.
Top with coleslaw and onions.
Place burger on top and cover with remaining rye bread.
Cut in half and serve with a potato knish and mustard.

This is the New York style of the Dagwood. It is the only meal you will need for the day – I promise.
