Assistant General Manager, Director of Membership and Property Manager – Kathy Whitehurst

Kathy Whitehurst established her managerial skills while working for developers and homeowner associations throughout South Florida.  Kathy and her family moved to Boca Raton in 1986 during the height of residential country club expansion, when she accepted a position as Director of Membership at Boca Pointe’s Fitness Center.  In 1998, Kathy took on the position of Membership Director at the Polo Club Boca Raton.  For the next six years Kathy welcomed and facilitated new members to the Polo Club, where she welcomed and facilitated new members to the club. In 1994, she was promoted to Director of Operations, overseeing the club’s daily operations and being directly responsible for Member Services for 1,700 memberships. Kathy then joined Coscan Homes, overseeing property management for their properties in Broward and Dade counties. She then returned to Palm Beach County, accepting the position as Assistant General Manager and Property Manager for Boca Grove Plantation in 2000.  If you don’t see Kathy at the Club, then she is either in her kitchen baking, at the gym working out, or spending time with her husband, children and most importantly, her nine grandchildren. 
 
 

Controller – Kelly Mammen

Kelly Mammen joined the Boca Grove Accounting Department in 2008 as the Staff Accountant and was recently promoted to Controller. Originally from Peru, Kelly graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor’s in Accounting and is working on getting her CPA license. She and her husband Charlie are the proud parents of two little boys, Carson and Nolan.
 
 

Accounts Payable – Soraida Gonzalez

Soraida Gonzalez has been part of the Accounting Department at Boca Grove since 2004, when
she started working in Accounts Receivable. Since then, she has progressed into her current position of Accounts Payable and Payroll. When not paying people or serving as a notary, Soraida is growing her creative side by attending classes at Broward College to earn a degree in Graphic Design. 
 
 

Accounts Receivable – Gaby Joy

Gaby Joy changed the focus of her accounting career to country clubs in 2014, when she joined the Boca Grove team. Prior to joining Boca Grove, Gaby worked for eleven years in accounting for construction companies and for a year as the Comptroller for a glass and glazing company. Gaby is certified not only as a notary, but also as a diver. 
 
 

Public Relations Coordinator – Heather Dupree

Heather Dupree joined Boca Grove in the summer of 2015. Previously she worked at Boca West Country Club for ten years as the Golf Tournament Coordinator. Heather has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication with minors in Advertising and Graphic Design from Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida. Heather was born and raised in Palm Beach and is a true-blue Florida native. Outside of Boca Grove you will find Heather spending time with her husband Michael and their two little girls, Isabella and Emma. 
 
 

Communications Coordinator – Valerie Rivera

Valerie Rivera joined Boca Grove in the summer of 2015. An identical twin born and raised in Puerto Rico, Valerie previously worked in the hotel industry, including five years at the Wyndham Rio Mar Hotel. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree with focus in Event and Convention Planning from La Universidad del Este in Puerto Rico. Valerie specialized in corporate events while in school and helped plan the National Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York. She started her work in country clubs at The Fountains Country Club in Lake Worth, Florida, as a server and then as the Communications Coordinator. When not working on the Club newsletter, flyers or e-mails, Valerie can be found baking, sewing or spending time with her family and friends. 
 
 

Head Receptionist – Mary Ellen Sutherland

Born and bred in Boston, Massachusetts, Mary Ellen Sutherland spent the bulk of her professional career with Massachusetts’ international trade promotion agency. After 20 years’ service, Mary Ellen retired in 1999 as Director of Asian Trade Programs and relocated to Florida. During her time with the state, she worked for five governors and developed briefing materials, organized trade missions to Asia and Europe, and coordinated foreign trade and government officials’ visits to Massachusetts. Among her accomplishments was the establishment of the first State of Massachusetts Trade Office in Mainland China. She also helped compile and edit the first comprehensive directory of foreign subsidiaries in Massachusetts. Mary Ellen is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts. She has been keeping everyone in line since joining Boca Grove in May 2001, and is and always will be an unrepentant Boston Red Sox fan.
 
 

Human Resources Director - Faith Barnett


Faith Barnett has been with Boca Grove since 2007. Faith is an HR professional with more than 10 years of experience and a proven track record in delivering a diverse range of human resource functions that support management and staff in achieving organizational goals. She is adept at directing all HR functions including recruiting, talent development, employee relations, and policy design. Faith is also experienced at utilizing internet technologies to improve organizational performance, and has developed policies and procedures to ensure compliance and meet the Club’s needs. Outside of Boca Grove, Faith enjoys spending time with her two children, Charlette and C.J.
