A Month of “Planksgiving”

Here at Boca Grove, November is the month not just for giving thanks, but also for planks! The Fitness Center under the watchful eye of Boca Grove Fitness Director David Schlueter is taking on “Planksgiving” for the whole month. David wants everyone to focus on strengthening their core, but doing it safely. So here are some tips to make sure you make your plank perfect.
 
  1. Make Sure to Breathe. Find your happy place. Listen to music. Just don’t focus on the time, but the breathing.  
 
  1. Flex Your Feet. Put your heels back.
 
  1. Keep Your Core Tight. Your stomach needs to be tight, just like it gets when you are about to cough.
 
  1. Think Straight Line. Your head, torso and heels should form a straight line.
 
Now head over to the Fitness Center, get in on the fun and to the top of the leaderboard. Your abs will thank you.
